Louis Vuitton Foundation: an architectural masterpiece
Whatever your taste, the first thing that will strike you when entering the Fondation Louis Vuitton Foundation is the beauty and complexity of its architecture. This design masterpiece, unveiled in 2014, is the work of the famous American architect Frank Gehry.
The Foundation building is nestled in the Jardin d´Acclimatation of the Bois de Boulogne. It is an imposing glass and steel structure that gives the impression of a sailboat tossed in the wind. The museum is dedicated to contemporary art and has 11 galleries spread over 3 floors.
An exceptional exhibition programme awaits you
Having been amazed by its architecture, you’ll then be ready to discover the latest exhibitions presented by the Fondation Louis Vuitton. Until January 3rd, 2021, Cindy Sherman will be in the spotlight and you can discover the creativity of this influential American photographer through 170 of her works produced over a 45-year period. The Foundation also hosts a programme called Open Space, for which national and international artists are invited to present a specific project. Currently, you can discover the highly contemporary iconography of Jean Claracq, whose miniature format paintings are based on digital collages that teem with detail and offer multiple stories.
Classical music fans will not want to miss the Can Cakmur recital from 20:30 on November 13th. The Turkish virtuoso pianist will be playing selections from the works of Beethoven, Schumann and Liszt as well as music by contemporary composers.
