The Paris Marathon; one of the biggest running events in Europe
If you’re a foot racing fan, make a note of October 18th, 2020 (new date after cancel due to Coronavirus), as this is the date of the 44th Schneider Electric Marathon de Paris, a major sporting event that takes place every year in the capital. Trained athletes are invited to participate in this hugely popular international race. Spectators are invited to cheer on the runners and enjoy the various activities provided.

Along with those of London, Berlin, Chicago and New York, the Paris Marathon is one of the most important international urban foot race events. Nearly 50,000 runners from around 140 countries come to pound the asphalt of Paris and pit themselves against the 42.195 km of the most iconic long-distance discipline in athletics.
The almost entirely flat route starts at the top of the Avenue des Champs-Elysées, continues to Bastille and then the Porte de Vincennes, the Bois de Vincennes, the Porte Dauphine and the banks of the Seine before arriving on the Avenue Foch.
Once over the finish line, each participant will receive a medal, a T-shirt and a runner bag with various goodies.
